The cooperation with the Bergische University of Wuppertal contains two elements. Under direction of Prof. Schlingensiepen the TIM mechanics were
optimized. Working with high-end machines the uni team produced a new generation of precise mechanical parts.
The second element of the cooperation concentrates on the developement of new forms of teaching young blind persons in using tactile grafics,
letters and braille with VideoTIM and PC-TIM:
- Learning music notes with a new system by Prof. Schlingensiepen displayed on PC-TIM
- Developement of a set of grafics for TIM to communicate with blind people about visible physical entities. And also creating touchable pictures
for stories.
- Test of interactive tactile games, developed by ABTIM, to train the tactile sense by this new form of edutainment for blind children.
- Test of VideoTIM to use it for blind children in integrative schools.
